One yoke or two?
This was the question Margaret pondered recently as she prepared to celebrate the 2010 Mid-Autumn Festival (a.k.a. Harvest Moon Festival, Lantern Festival, Mooncake Festival), which culminates tonight. Tradition calls for white lotus seed paste, and you can get them with one salted duck egg yoke or two. Sure, you can have chocolate and orange, but why when you can have jujube paste or chicken floss? Margaret played it down the middle with red bean paste and purple sweet potato, no egg yoke. Actually, not bad. And, yes, there are lanterns:

Wow. Looks like a fun place to be. But...Singapore has a "Chinatown"? Isn't it all like one big Chinatown?

Don't think you can find that stuff in Belltown.
Travener... Indeed, but that wise-guy Raffles carved the city up into Chinese, Indian, Malay and Arab sectors in days of yore. So this would be the "historic" Chinatown. The Chinese since have sprawled all over.
Paul... You'd be surprised how much Clarke Quay is like Belltown, minus the crime, litter and exotic installations. It's mostly nightclubs frequented by expats and tourists.
So did all the stuff you had shipped finally get there? And does it fit in your condo? Is the bomb shelter filled to the brim?

cdsimpson1027... Yup, everthing arrived intact. Just a few nicks on a couple of things. It all fits and there's still a little room in the bomb shelter.
etrott1... Thanks for the good word. We hung around for about two hours thinking these lanterns would get brighter in the dark, but this early one came out best.
